Definition
A flat covering usually made of coarse materials, such as straw, hemp, coir, rushes, reeds, or grasses, which are woven or braided, usually into a rectangle or an oval. Used outside or inside to protect the floor or the rug below from dirt on feet, boots, or shoes. It may also be used for decorative purposes.
