Definition
An instrument consisting of a wide conical brass bore, coiled once or twice in a oval, without keys or valves, equipped with a cup-shaped mouthpiece at one end and a funnel-shaped bell at the other and sometimes a carrying cord. Used to produce a sound via sympathetic vibration of the air in the mouthpiece in order to give a signal call.
