Definition
An instrument consisting of a wooden or nickel silver cylindrical bore perforated with a series of finger holes on both sides often covered with moveable metal keys; closed at one end and equipped with an end or side-hole embouchure. Used to produce musical sounds by blowing the air over the edge of the mouth hole, thereby causing the column of air in the bore to vibrate.
