Definition
A plain or patterned cloth hanging, gathered or pleated, that is generally finished with casings, pleats, or ruffles and hems which may also be weighted. It may sometimes have a lining. It is usually hung by the top edge on a curtain rod. Used to cover a window or a doorway in order to control light and draughts, and provide privacy. Also used for decoration.
