- Definition
- A fitted double-breasted coat, usually with a waistline seam and with a straight vertical centre-front edge from the neck to hemline, a flared, thigh- to knee-length skirt (sometimes with back vents or pleats), close-fitting lower sleeves ending with small cuffs. The double row of buttons usually extends the waistline. Worn as the man’s undress, business wear, as well as formal wear.
