Definition
An accessory consisting of a long, narrow, flat, slotted piece of wood, metal, or other material. The slot runs lengthwise halfway down the centre of the stick and may widen at one of its ends to a circular opening through which a button can be passed. Used to draw buttons up away from the clothing during the polishing process, so as not to soil the fabric.
