- Definition
- Projectile-firing weapons that can be deployed easily by one person and, in most cases, use explosive propellant. This sub-class does not include ammunition, firearm accessories, or crew-served heavy armament. Note: For combination and conversion pieces, use multiple terms, e.g., "Pistol" and "Carbine" for a pistol carbine, and "Musket, Flintlock" and "Musket, Percussion" for a musket converted from flintlock to percussion.
