Definition
Tools, equipment, and supplies originally created to produce musical sounds or to be audibly incorporated into musical performances. This class does not include devices that amplify, transmit, or record musical sound, or devices intended for other purposes whose sound may, on occasion, be integrated into a musical performance (e.g., cannons or churchbells to accompany the 1812 Overture).
