Definition
Objects originally created to allow one or more persons to sit upon or support a portion of their body, as in the case of footstools. Seating furniture includes both indoor and outdoor furniture and may be stationary pieces such as slipper chairs or allow for some movement such as rocking chairs. This class includes upright furniture that adjusts to a reclining position, but non-adjustable furniture that is designed for reclining is included in Sleeping & Reclining Furniture.
