Definition
An instrument consisting of a conical brass or copper bore, often straight, curved or coiled in a helicon-shaped; equipped with a cupped mouthpiece at one end and a medium to wide, slightly flared bell at the other end. Used to produce a sound via sympathetic vibration of the air in the mouthpiece, in order to give a signal call during the hunt.
