Definition
A device consisting of a bolt or lever and a catch that are set into the frame of a window. Used to prevent a window from being opened by the wind or by someone outside. When the window is closed, the two parts of the mechanism match up and a bolt or a lever on the window is projected into the catch into the window-frame.
