Definition
A weapon consisting of a long rifled barrel, fitted with a wood stock, a trigger, a trigger guard, originally a flint lock but ordinarily a percussion lock or a firing mechanism for breech loading, an aiming mechanism, stamped with identification and inspection marks, and usually equipped with a bayonet and sometimes with a sling. Used to fire bullets.
